Ms. Altergott teaches our Oriental bodywork series, including acupressure, tui-na, and shiatsu, as well as the Living Anatomy courses. She began teaching in Fall 2004.

Ms. Fujioka teaches the Qi Gong courses and has been teaching at TCMCH since 2001.

Ms. Keolanui teaches Evolution of a Healer I and has taught at TCMCH since 2003.

Diana LaRose, M.A.

B.A. International Service and Development, World College West (1990). M.A. in Psychology and Art Therapy, Sonoma State University (1998). Graduate of The Healer’s Path: Training in Energy Medicine with Jonathan Goldman in Oregon and Brazil. Health Intuition Training with Karen Grace Kassy. Further studies in Energy Medicine and spiritual healing, Brazil. Intensive training in Energy Medicine in the School for Energetic Medicine. Certified Reiki Master, 1995. Ms. LaRose has been teacher and consultant for expressive arts programs, maintained a private practice in Sacred Touch, and participated in research at the North Hawai’i Community Hospital to explore distance healing and prayer. Ms. LaRose has also been counselor and educator with abused children, homeless families, and battered women. Ms. LaRose offers an elective in Energy Medicine and Spiritual Healing.

Angela Longo, Ph.D., L.Ac.

Ph. D. Biochemistry, UC Berkeley.

Dr. Longo has taught TCM for  36 years from and is the founder of the Traditional Chinese Medical College of Hawaii.  Dr. Longo is also currently teaching in New Zealand.  Dr. Longo’s interests are in integrating the spiritually mindful, physical wisdom of TCM, I Ching and the Taoist non judgemental  way of life.

 

Chieko J. Maekawa, Ph.D., D.Ac., L.Ac., Dipl. Ac.

Dr. Maekawa trained at New England Acupuncture School, 1982, and graduated with honors from the Waseda Medical Arts College, Tokyo, 1985. NCCA Dipl. Ac. 1986. Ph.D., University of Health Science, Honolulu, 1991; D.Ac., University of Health Science, 2000. Executive Director, Seitai Shinpo Foundation, 1983-97. Vice-President (1985-92) and President (1992-present), Big Island Acupuncture Association. Board of Directors (Education Chair), Hawaii Acupuncture Association., 1993-present. Founder, Traditional Japanese Acupuncture Foundation, 1997-present. Dr. Maekawa has her acupuncture clinic in Kona, Hawaii. Dr. Maekawa has taught the series of electives on Japanese acupuncture at TCMCH since 2002.

Ms. McLaughlin has been with TCMCH since 2004 and is also Co-Director of the TCMCH Teaching Clinic, as well as a Clinical Supervisor.

Shanon Sidell, N.D.

Dr. Shanon Sidell is a 2007 graduate of Bastyr University and a Naturopathic Resident in the Offices of Dr. Michael Traub and Dr. Nancy Lins. As a 15 year resident of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, she has previously worked in spa settings on the Kohala coast as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Prior to her work in the healing arts, she worked as a theatre artist.
